BIG SWINGING OVARIES

What started as the name of my first ever London-based solo exhibition of Retex Sculptures in 2014 (and my subsequent 2018 show in Australia), has grown to become instantly recognisable as my brand, logo, subject matter and an all-encompassing descriptor of my work. It is nowadays also the name of my company, Big Swinging Ovaries Limited.

The idea behind the name was a simple desire: to create a powerful brand that merged humour with women’s rights activism.

The inspiration it has provided my work has been boundless and can now be found as embroidered pieces, kits, jewellery, iron-on patches and tattoos.

It has even been used many a time as a descriptor for women who kick arse.
